Public Preview of School Library Books -
Jackson County Schools provides the opportunity for parents and interested citizens to visit those schools with staffed libraries to preview new library books purchased for the upcoming school year. Ravenswood and Ripley high schools and middle schools will offer this opportunity during the week preceding the first day of school for students. The books will be on display August 16-22, 2023, during the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Those interested in reviewing the new school library books must call the administrator of the respective school and make an appointment before visiting the library.
Hello and good day! Please note the following information regarding students receiving computers prior to their return on August 23rd:
August 14th from 10am - 6pm for Seniors and Juniors and then on August 15th from 10am - 6pm for Sophomores and Freshmen.
Distribution will take place in the school library.
Hello students and families, This is a reminder that summer reading or research will be due September 15th, three weeks after school begins. Bonus points may be offered to those students who turn their work in the first week of school. Students are expected to do summer reading OR summer research, NOT BOTH. They can choose a book or topic that they are truly interested in. Summer reading and summer research descriptions are still available on the Ripley High webpage and at the public library. The library has each of the books available as well ad computer time for free.

Hello Ripley High School seniors. The Parking pass application will be available on the school website as of July 16th. This must be filled out before parking on campus for the upcoming school year. This form does not guarantee a senior spot as spots are limited and are given out in order of timestamp when the form is filled out. In collaboration with the Mid-Ohio Valley Workforce Development Board, Jackson County Schools is offering a Career Technical Education Exploration class from July 10 through July 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This is a wonderful opportunity for incoming 9th and 10th graders to experience firsthand the world of Career Technical Education from master craftsmen in the trades of Manufacturing, Automotive, Construction, Electrical, Welding, and Culinary Arts. The course will include the use of Virtual Reality glasses for students to simulate on-the-job experiences. This is only a five-day program with limited space available. If your child is interested in learning more about future possibilities in career technical education, please do not miss this great opportunity. Good evening. This is a reminder to all families that on Friday, April 21, 2023, Jackson County Schools will have a three-hour early dismissal for all students. If your child rides a bus, the bus will arrive at the drop-off location three hours before the normal drop-off time. As always, you can check the Zonar app to see the exact location of your child’s bus at any given time. Thank you and have a wonderful evening.
Good Evening Ripley High School 11th grade students and parents. This is a reminder that most 11th grade students will be taking the SAT School Day tomorrow. We encourage you to get plenty of sleep this evening. All students will report to homeroom as normal and then be dismissed to the their testing locations. Ripley High School 11th graders were notified this week that the Wellness Center will be providing 12th grade immunizations later this Spring to those who sign up. Permission slips are available through the school nurse and are due back by April 17th. These immunizations will be administered during the school day later this Spring. Contact the school nurse with questions or to receive a permission form.
