Good afternoon, Jackson County Schools will be dismissing two and one-half hours early due to severe weather entering our region beginning at 3:00 p.m. According to the National Weather briefing at 10:00 a.m. this morning - tornado warnings, large-size hail, and heavy winds have been predicted. All buses will arrive at their stops two and 1/2 hours early. I apologize for this inconvenience and your understanding of this matter. Please stay safe.

Hello Ripley High School 11th grade students and parents. This message is to remind you that the SAT School Day will be administered next Tuesday, April 16. Testing will begin immediately after homeroom and will conclude at approximately 10:45am. Students - please make sure that you arrive at school on time. Please make sure that Macbooks are fully charged the evening prior to testing. Students are allowed to bring their own calculator, but a calculator is also built into the testing program that the students can utilize. The SAT is an important assessment for students that can be used for scholarship qualification including the Promise Scholarship, college acceptance, and other post secondary opportunities. Good evening. On April 8, 2024, Jackson County will experience a Solar Eclipse with a magnitude of 94.7%. The height of the eclipse will be around 3:13 p.m., coinciding with dismissal times for many of our schools. Jackson County Schools has taken a proactive approach to this occurrence by purchasing special glasses for our students so they can experience this spectacular event, which will not occur again until 2044. Last week, guardians should have received a letter from our school system explaining the procedures we have in place for the eclipse as safety is always our top concern. Good Evening Ripley High School - The Jackson County Wellness Center is offering 11th graders the opportunity to receive their required senior year immunizations. An enrollment form was given to 11th graders this morning during homeroom. If you would like for your student to receive their required immunizations at the Wellness Center, please return this form to the school nurse by Friday, March 15.

Good evening parents and guardians. This is a friendly reminder that Monday, February 19, 2024, is a Professional Learning Day for school employees. This means that students will not have classes. As with our last PL day in October, we encourage guardians to schedule conferences with teachers. If you would like to schedule a conference with a teacher, please contact them as soon as possible. At approximately 1:30pm, RpHS received information of a potential threat against a RpHS student from an individual in another county. The individual was identified and has been apprehended by the WVSP. We appreciate the response of our local law enforcement and SHIELD program.

Good evening- Communities In Schools is having a county wide resource day located at the Ravenswood Middle School gym before the Ripley vs Ravenswood basketball game tomorrow evening.
